Here’s a lovely thing. About a year ago I discovered Craftsy online classes and I’m so glad I did.
I often get asked about how I learned patchwork and quilting. The truth is I am entirely self-taught, from a mixture of trial and error, following different patterns and picking up techniques, and lots and lots of YouTube viewing!
Craftsy offers online classes in a whole variety of different ‘crafty’ skills, from patchwork and quilting, through cake decorating, to photography. I wanted to share them with you because they are a great way to get going with patchwork and quilting, or to develop your skills.
I’ve found the classes to be really well put together, with excellent instructors and good supporting materials. Plus, as it’s all online with lifetime access anytime you want I don’t have to worry about finding the time to get to a class, or forgetting everything I’ve learned! There are great interactive features too, letting you take notes, ask questions of the tutor and share pictures of your projects. If you decide for any reason a class isn’t for you, you can return it for a full refund, with no questions asked.
Over the next few months, I’ll post about my favourite classes as I take them, and also point you in the direction of any that I think might be of particular interest.
For today I just wanted to suggest this class as a taster. It’s totally free to take and is a great way to try out a Craftsy class. Plus, it’s chock full of useful patchwork and quilting tips and techniques!
I really hope you find Craftsy a useful resource for your quilting hobby, or for any other crafty activity you might find on there.
