Jakki Doodles Memory Quilt – In The Press!

A month or so ago, we created this gorgeous baby clothes keepsake.Baby clothes memory quilt for Riley

Riley’s mum had approached us, wanting to create a keepsake from her favourite baby clothes, and to include pictures of the quilt in the magazine she writes for. It’s lovely to get requests like this. I so appreciate people sharing their keepsakes as there’s no better reassurance than a happy customer if you’re considering trusting a baby clothes keepsake maker with those precious clothes.

Jakki is married to Kelly Jones of the Stereophonics, and is the talent behind Jakki Doodles. She creates quirky and fun doodles which appear on everything from greetings cards to sticky notes to wash bags.

Jakki asked if we could create a slight variation on our All Squared Up Baby Clothes Quilt. The clothes she used were mostly patterned without any large logos, and she wanted a simple grid design without any combined patches. She also asked if we could place the name applique in the bottom corner of the quilt, using a simpler font style than usual, all in upper case. I was happy to oblige.

The finished quilt was really lovely – I particularly like all the foxy faces!

Jakki’s column including Riley’s quilt is in the April edition of Smallish Magazine (now out of print). Here’s a sneak peak:

You can follow Jakki Doodles on Instagram and play ‘spot the patch’ – there’s lots of pictures of Riley in many of the outfits that feature in the memory quilt 🙂

Thank you, Jakki!
